VEN in the garden
On Saturday, May 26, in partnership with Grønt Forum, VEN visited Ulla and Rolf Karmann‘s private forest garden. They opened their doors to 20 VENer and gave us an informative tour and hands-on experience regarding sustainable plant-based food production.
During the tour we learned about different plant species, fruits, and nuts and their sustainability. After the tour, we split into two groups. One group planted Sankt Hans herb and mint and the second group picked plants and herbs that were used to prepare lunch. We prepared tzatziki out of Sankt Hans herb and Ramsløg (a wild herb that tastes like garlic), pesto that was also made from Ramsløg, and a beautiful, colorful salad made with a variety of wild salad leaves and flowers.
VEN would like to thank all of the members who participated, and special thanks again to Ulla and Rolf for allowing us to visit their beautiful home.
